As the new head of the art department at a small university, I prepared my first painting exhibit with care to make a good impression. When a young student came to interview me for the university paper, I could tell she had never covered an art exhibit before. I took pains to explain my work and philosophy, even providing several quotable comments she could use.
At my suggestion, she read me her draft, so I could check for inaccuracies. I thought I had the situation under control – until the article appeared with this headline: “EXHIBITIONIST SHOWS ALL OF HER STUFF.”
